Historical Moments

When the Milwaukee franchise moved to St. Louis in the American League's second season, they lured several valuable players from the city's National League Cardinals, including 1901 batting champ Jesse Burkett, star shortstop Bobby Wallace, and the Cards three best pitchers.

They also took on the Cardinals' discarded nickname, becoming the new St. Louis Browns.

The Browns would go to finish a solid second-place record of 78-58.
