Historical Moments
Sensing the AAFC was about to fold, Ted Collins owner of the Boston Yanks sought for permission to move his franchise to New York. In a move that can be considered somewhat dubious Collins officially folded the Yanks and was given a new team called the New York Bulldogs, claiming the Yanks as a tax write off.
The Bulldogs were coached by Charley Ewart and shared the Polo Grounds with the New York Giants and lost their first game to the Philadelphia Eagles 7-0 on September 22nd. A week later they would lose their first meeting with the Giants 38-14.
The Bulldogs would drop their first five games, before earning a 14-14 tie against the Washington Redskins. A week later in a rematch with the Giants, the New York Bulldogs would get their first win, 31-24.
It would also be the Bulldogs only win as they lost their final five games and finished with a record 1-10-1.
